|"Hong Kong: Our Home" is a city-wide public participation campaign that aims to inject positive energy into society, foster social cohesion and promote care, mutual help and solidarity in the community.
The Campaign provides a platform for enhanced publicity of events and activities that engage a wide cross-section of the community, that aim to make Hong Kong a more liveable and enjoyable city and that instil in residents a sense of pride about our home.
The Campaign emphasises "public participation". The Administration is providing a common platform that allows activities and events aligned with the campaign goals to be pooled under an umbrella theme to create greater synergy and public awareness.
The Campaign is anchored in the Chief Executive's 2013 Policy Address initiatives in relation to "A Caring Society and a Home for the People", "Environmental Protection and Conservation" as well as "Arts and Culture and Sports Development".
"Hong Kong: Our Home" was launched by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, at the Hong Kong Museum of History on April 23, 2013. The launch was attended by more than 250 people and included an art jam that attracted about 180 participants, many of whom helped to paint part of the stage backdrop for the event.
